In response to the murder of my son Eviton Brown and all the other innocent victims of homicide, my three children and I have made a commitment to do something about the violence. Therefore, we have started a Not-For-Profit organization “Violence Intervention and Prevention Services Inc." Our mission is to put an end to senseless violence through community outreach, education and information. We also provide services to victims of violent crimes and their families, empowering them with the necessary tools to rebuild their lives. Every Sunday from 3:00-4:00 PM on WTPS 1080 AM, we provide a platform in which to engage the community in using other alternatives to resolving conflict and anger. We visit local schools and community groups and share our personal story with the community and why it is important to report crime in their neighborhoods. Our show also allows for listeners to call in and address issues of violence in their community and to offer solutions to managing anger and resolving conflict. We also bring in professional guests as experts to provide the community with information on where victims of violent crimes can get help. We are very proud to be able to give victims of violent crimes and their families a platform by which they can be heard. We provide a voice to the voiceless.

In 2006 Miami reports 258 homicides. While the crime rate overall is down, homicides increased over 40%. Our goal is to engage the South Florida community to put an end to the senseless violence.
